City Industries - Truck paint scheme concepts

These designs are initial concepts for the branding package I am creating for City Industries; which consists of Usicity, Concrecity and Intercity. Depending on which logo style they decide to go with, I will be creating a various iterations of truck designs for their fleets; which consist of a number of truck colors. The designs I create must be able to work against an assortment of background colors, specifically the Mercedes Atego truck paint colors.

LAX is a skateboard shop in downtown São Paulo. They have a line of skateboards that is called Roots, which follows is based on all things Jamaican and Roots Reggae. Special credit is due to the creator of the skateboard deck, Nunosk8. The gator on the skateboard log is from the Jamaican emblem.

Iudice Mineração - Signs

I made a bunch of warning signs for the Iudice Mineração quarry as part of the yearly safety updates. The new logo, that I designed as well, is featured on all of the new signs. The symbols used are all from the Brazilian safety standards set. This particular sign is made partly of recycled materials and a type of fiberglass. Besides acting as the board the fiberglass helps with the paint durability.

This is a diagram of the notification of quarry closure process. If it rains and the quarry is flooded the Admin will initiate the quarry site process. The system will then notify the clients of the closure via SMS and/or Email dependent on their preferences set within the system.

Iudice Mineração (logo designs)

This post features several series of logo designs created for Iudice Mineração which is a mining conglomerate. This is the original logo for Iudice Mineração. It uses two primary colors, red and purple, and is formed using thick strips to form the letters "I" and "M".

This first series features Pluto the god of the underworld; who, signifies strength, the depths of the earth, and projects a sense of history to the viewer. I designed him holding a torch to light his way in the depths of the earth. In his other arm he clutches a pick-axe representing the mining aspect of business. Using a Roman god also embodies some history, as the founders of the company are of Italian heritage.

The various elements used to create Pluto, such as the pick-axe and torch, allow for uses as alternate logos and design elements.

This "Modern" series is based on some properties of the original logo's use of shape and colors.

This series plays with the letters "I" and "M".

The two pyramids represent the gravel piles created by the conveyors at the mining sites.

I created a bold pillar like "I" to both indicate strength and stone.

RIUMA (logo designs)

The image, just bellow this paragraph, is from an earlier version of the logo. The primary colors are red and blue with white; however, the logo is predominately displayed using only red and white.

Bellow are some modernized logo designs for, Pedreira RIUMA, a large quarry business in Brazil. I created a series that I titled the "Modern" series of logos which would be built on the historical oval and bold text within. Using the historical oval and bold text as my model I created a very clean font that made a statement, then added the oval and developed a 2.0 look and feel for the primary logo.

I should add that these drawings of Bobo are inspired by Bob Flynn. Enjoying his work has really triggered a little gray cell somewhere. This one is titled, "Bobo Tilted".

These are some applications icons that I got to make for some ports to the Google Android devices. Porting game graphics for mobile games and applications is not often the foremost item on most producers, product managers, and project managers minds in the mobile business. Its a hard fact to deal with and the artist or designer has to manage a great deal. Often the new platforms have their own style-guides and require custom application icons to be made for them. One exception is the iPhone which only requires the developer to provide a small PNG that the native environment uses to create the icons found on the phones main menu.

Bellow is the in-game screen of the bowling lane, developed for Pro Bowling 2, a mobile bowling game. I helped lead the level creation and I developed the concept animations.

I also developed these logos concepts for the game, as the product team wanted to change the current branding at the time.

This logo was developed as a traditional and more professional logo. The aim was to get away from a arcade look and feel.

Delta-9 Dispensary - Logo Studies

These logos are for small business that is opening in San Diego. I was asked to create a logo that used some element of delta-9. ...these are the first batch of logos I came up with on the first night. All of them can be easily manipulated for various branding treatments and positioning.

I really liked this series one in particular...

This one would be a nice one to use.

This is the boldest series. Very clear, simple and well defined.

This one is not my favorite, as it looks too corporate.

This was drawn, at my work, on the engineering teams whiteboard. Its "Le Circle of Vomit"! The cat is vomiting on the Monkey, that is both sitting and vomiting on the hump of a camel, that is vomiting onto the belly of pig, that is spewing vomit like a geyser onto a rat, that is also spewing forth vomit onto a sheep, that once again is spewing forth vomit like a geyser onto a duck, that is vomiting on the cat... it should in fact be named Le Never Ending Circle of Vomit!

Readily Inflatable Shelter

These concept designs are for my Project Management Simulation class project. The project was to design a survival product prototype and provide a budget, a schedule, documentation, cost estimates, materials research and so on. The product was a "Readily Inflatable Shelter"; which, is meant to provide survivors of natural disasters with a shelter that to help them survive until rescue is in sight.

This image was created to show the full set-up of the RIS. I added the rain, dark water, and bleak sky to liven it up.

The image bellow is of the life boat / flotation device for the Readily Inflatable Shelter. I used a number of tricks to create the various pieces. Everything is vector based and scalable. I used the specifications provided by the Flotation Device team to create the designs.

This is the shelter portion of the craft. It took some work to create as I had to add elements that the team had not thought of. Such as the Velcro inseam and the latches for connecting to the flotation device. The fan unit was a scope change that is used to remove toxic/damaging fumes from the storage unit as the fictional tests showed that it was needed.

This is the storage container depicting the space limitations for the various shelter and flotation device components. The container had a number of features that had to be carefully considered such as; packing configurations, size limitations, materials and so on.
